Duane Braddock hopes to start a new life at the Bar T Ranch with his fiancée, but two men, armed with the knowledge about his escape from Titusville, don't plan to make it easy for him. Duane's life becomes even more complicated when he unexpectedly falls in love with another woman.

    Berman uses pace and vocal urgency to build up the feeling of suspense as Duane attempts to clear up the mess he's gotten himself into.
