Narrator Anthony Donovan's remarkable performance of "The Raven" is steeped in melancholy and a foreboding sense of doom. Donovan uses the cadence of Edgar Allan Poe's words to form a rhythm that reveals the speaker's growing madness. Donovan uses variations in delivery, from the speaker's whispers to half-suppressed shouts to the raven's menacing croak.
