Description
Post-apocalyptic fiction by Sean Liscom.
Jason Sterling had a simple life by all accounts. He had worked the same job his entire adult life, he had never married and he had no children. He was used to doing things on his own. His comfortable life was shaken to the core the day he learned of his fathers death. It was a mysterious meeting that set life altering events in motion and the allure of a new life was too great to walk away from. When an electromagnetic pulse brings the modern world to its knees, Jason's choice proves to be the right one.
Excerpt:
“Shut up!” one of the men who’d pulled him from the house barked and kicked him in the stump that was once his leg. Ira released a wail of pain, both of his hands shot to his destroyed leg.
“Leave him alone!” I yelled. The man turned toward me and walked over. He knelt in front of me and put his face uncomfortably close to mine.
“You wanna join him? I can arrange it!” he growled in my face. His rancid breath was nearly enough to make me gag.
“You wanna take these cuffs off and have a go at it?” I sneered. Without warning, he grabbed the shoulder strap of my body armor and threw me to the ground. I rolled to my back and looked up at him. I could see the rage boiling behind his eyes. “I guess you only mess with one legged men and handcuffed girls. What’s the matter? Can’t take someone in a fair fight?"
He unsheathed the large bowie knife from its place on his belt and took a step closer. I drew my knees up like I was going to try and push myself away. In reality, I was setting myself up to deliver one hell of a kick to this dude’s nuts. He was suddenly distracted and stopped his approach, his whole demeanor changed in a flash. I twisted my head to try and see what he was looking at. It turned out to be who he was looking at. Ken Shaw strode out of the early evening shadows.
“What the hell’s going on here, Mr. Bradshaw?” Ken asked as he stepped over Ira and then me. He seemed to ignore both of us and was intently staring at the man with the rotten teeth and bad breath.
“I, I, I...” Bradshaw stammered. Ken was standing directly in front of him now.
“What was my explicit order regarding the Marshals?"
“You wanted them alive?” Bradshaw responded questioningly.
“And?"
“Unharmed. You wanted them unharmed."
“Is that why you threw her to the ground?” Ken pointed back toward me. “Were my orders so unclear that you felt the need to throw a handcuffed woman to the ground and draw your pig sticker? What were you planning on doing, Mr. Bradshaw?"

Delusion
If you like fiction these are great. More lefty feminazi trash. Little girls beating up grown men. Doesn’t happen in the real world ladies. There are exceptions but not the rule. The author must be a male feminist, what and oxymoron or just a moron in general.

Ranch fan
I really liked the ranch books until the last two. I just don’t care for a female narrator. It doesn’t sound or feel right for the book. Nothing against female narrators but it just doesn’t fit. Sorry, you lost me.

Great storyline but need improvement on narration
The storyline of book 6 was very engrossing some with plot twists and graphic battles. In a novel with battles and nomenclature of certain weapons the narrator should really do a little research on pronouncing the names and abbreviations. Now it may have been a writer errors, but even so, could have been fixed in narration if just one YouTube video had been watched to educate themselves on proper terminology. The character development was great and I really enjoyed Tara and Juno as main characters. One more thing. I really think the narrator needs to practice her Cuban accent. Sound more Russian than Hispanic. I have listened to a few other book narrated by Moon and usually she does a great job but fell a bit short on this one. Over all not a bad listen.

Good closure
Such a great thing when there is closure to a story like this one. I've always wondered in books and movies why they don't do it more often. The series was great. At book 5 I didn't think I would like the change in perspective and narrator change. However I'm glad I spent the credit and gave it a chance. Erin did a wonderful job with the voices and the Author closed out the story in great fashion. As always with stories of this caliber I didn't want it to end. with well over 200 books I've been through and most of them in this Genre this one is up there as one of my favorites. Who knows in a few years once I forget the story ill listen to it again. My thanks goes out to the author and narrator. Hats off to you.

This was a fitful end to the legacy series. The story was solid as was the narration. Sad that the story is over but highly recommend.

a decent end to a long story
brought the whole ranch saga to an exceptable end. was a little apprehensive about a female voice reading a male voice but you get use to it. not a bad read (listen).
