Description

They loved one another. Fiercely. Possessively. Crazily. Always.

The love Finn and I share? It's the kind you can never recover from. The kind you never want to recover from.

That's why we'll do everything and anything to protect it.

When my past chases me all the way to The Outskirts, we have to make a choice. Let the lies destroy our chance at a future together...or bury them deep in the swamp where they belong.

Loved Part 2

The narration to this completion of this story was perfection for me. But I am a huge fan of Lance Greenfield since I first heard him in earlier TM Fraizer books. I also enjoyed getting a glimpse of characters from The Dark Light of Day. Sawyer and Finn were there to help bring each other out of their own darkness and how TM brought other characters through their own journeys (don't want spoilers here) fit the story very well.

Disappointed

I only continued to see how the story ends. There was so much potential, but it all fell flat. I'm just going to recycle my review from the 1st part of the duet, mostly, since it's the same deal. It was alright. I loved the "King" series, by the same author, but this one fell flat for me. I didn't feel the chemistry between Finn and Sawyer. It happened quickly without much substance. I absolutely loved the names Finn and Sawyer, but hated the nickname "Say"-not sure how it's spelled, but that's how it was pronounced. It just didn't seem to fit. The guy was a jerk, the gal was annoying. I just cringed too much during the book.
I don't know if I cringed because the book wasn't good or because the narrators were bad.

Narrators:
It was difficult to listen to these two. Why on earth would you have a male/female narrator throughout the book until the bonus scenes? Why is the female reading a male POV? That left me a little confused at first.

Lance Greenfield - 2 stars- He's not right for this part, he sounds too old. No points deducted for that. Narrator is way too dramatic, and the female voices need lots of work.

June Wayne-2 stars- Complete opposite of the male narrator and is way too monotone and choppy. Robotic is the perfect word to describe her.

Spoilery Stuff:
How on earth do you not know what you're holding is a rock and not a skull? TF? Also, not buying the PTSD deal, maybe something else, but it didn't seem to work.

Now one of my favorite books!!

The Outskirts duet is now one of my all time favorites. Do not pass this book up! The story is absolutely incredible and I fell in love with all the characters (except for the bad one- Richard) but even his character is vital to the story. I’ve never had a book bring tears to my eyes but this one did.

Dark romance. 1POV. HEA. 2/2 in series.

This is a darkish romance with a “it was fate” meeting. It was a great listen. The narration was good. However June doesn’t really alter her voice when doing a male voice. The HEA is sweet.

Really loved this duet from one of my fave authors

I really enjoyed the whole story of Sawyer and Fynn. The characters ate memorable and easily relatable. I went through both books in the duet in 2 days! I didn't love the Male narrator because he sounded close to hysteria in most of Fynns parts of the story, he was just too animated. I liked the gemstones voice though.

My Two Pennies

After being left with a jaw dropping cliffhanger I couldn’t wait to jump into book two. Sawyer and Finn’s story picks right up where we left off and I am even more committed to them now then before. The pace moves along at a quicker speed and I couldn’t get enough, there’s more suspense, action and of course romance throughout this conclusion. Moments that will leave you holding your breath and others that will have you grinning ear to ear with the transformation we see from Sawyer in her short time of moving into this town. A page turner that I couldn’t put down.

Sad it's over! I really liked the story, especially how everything came full circle at the end. Fantastic follow up to
The Outskirts. Narration was great once again.

Religious extremes to happiness

I enjoyed Sawyers journey thus far. She is owning into her own. And it seems she is stronger than many could have ever been if in that same situation. She has so much life in her and so much of it left to live.

I really liked Finn from the beginning. The recluse town drunk and all. He was mean to Sawyer at first and even though she grew up being taught that she was inferior to men she stood up to him.

There relationship that bloomed from there was amazing and beautiful but for Sawyer definitely on the naive side.

I did think Critter was lying when she first met him but to find out that not only that but he is her father. And not only that but he had been hiding a huge secret from her. Woo wee. It was like eye bugging heart stopping. But so worth it.
