Feeling she has little choice but to leave her beloved community, Maggie takes a teaching job and buys a century-old farmhouse in the hills of Northern California. As Maggie begins to build her life in the community, she slowly unravels a story of love and deceit. While delving into the history of her new place, Maggie is confronted with her own desires and vulnerabilities in love, along with the anger and pain of Daniel, the man who still grieves for a sister lost so long ago.
