The relationship between Alaric and Talaysn
Nothing! I freaking loved it💛💜. The storytelling was perfect even though the world building was complex

Un world building complexe et un enemies to lovers frustrant
Performance : très bien interprété.
Histoire : L’entrée dans cet univers très complexe m’a un peu déstabilisée. J’ai eu un peu de mal à raccorder tous les territoires, leurs magies, leurs systèmes politiques. C’est là qu’on voit que les cartes sont indispensables. Difficile à faire en audio.
La relation entre Talasyn et Alaric est frustrante dans le sens où c’est un enemies to lovers enfouis sous un tas de non dits. On a juste envie de les secouer parfois. Dire le fond de sa pensé, mettre à nu ses sentiments est pour eux un acte de capitulation politique. Tout serait tellement plus simple s’ils se parlaient honnêtement. Ça va 5 min mais c’est ça pendant tout le livre. C’est fatiguant.

A Despicable Tale.
This is a parody of a romance. Our two protagonists might as well be early Jaime and Cercei Lannister transposed into a nonsensical world where Airships are made out of wood and the main armament are fire crystals.
Alaric is a full blown r*pist, a f*scist emo boy that deserves no sympathy from either you or myself.
As for Talasyn, I've met cardboard cutouts with more personality. She almost feels like a parody of a Mary Sue given how much of a stand in she is.
The narration is however excellent, and although it made Alaric sound like a Goth Kid from South Park, one might argue it would fit him like a glove.
This book is lucky that Audible doesn't allow 0/5 stars.
