Please include chapter names

Amazing performance from both readers, too bad the chapters don’t include the names of the short stories or isn’t structured in any way.

You gotta be kidding me.

How do you release a collection of Novellas without giving the listeners some way of navigating through the individual titles? So incredibly lazy of whomever was responsible for releasing this title. Give me a break. Update: OK I will just do it myself. Below is list of novellas and which chapter to choose to begin each title... Table of Contents * Vaster than Empires and More Slow (1971, Hainish Cycle) * Buffalo Gals, Won’t You Come Out Tonight (1987) * Hernes (1991) * The Matter of Seggri (1994, Hainish Cycle) * Another Story or a Fisherman of the Inland Sea (1994, Hainish Cycle) * Forgiveness Day (1994, Hainish Cycle) * A Man of the People (1994, Hainish Cycle) * A Woman’s Liberation (1994, Hainish Cycle) * Old Music and the Slave Women (1999, Hainish Cycle) * The Finder (2001, Earthsea) * On the High Marsh (2001, Earthsea) * Dragonfly (1997, Earthsea) * Paradises Lost (2002, Hainish Cycle) Vaster than empires and more slow STARTS CHAPTER 1 Buffalo gals won’t you come out tonight STARTS CHAPTER 3 Hernes STARTS CHAPTER 8 The matter of Seggri STARTS CHAPTER 12 Another story or a fisherman of the inland sea STARTS CHAPTER 15 Forgiveness day STARTS CHAPTER 17 A man of the people STARTS CHAPTER 21 A woman’s liberation STARTS CHAPTER 24 Old music and the slave women STARTS CHAPTER 29 The finder STARTS CHAPTER 32 On the high marsh STARTS CHAPTER 39 Dragonfly STARTS CHAPTER 41 Paradises lost STARTS CHAPTER 46 That’s all of them

I loved this book BUT

Any additional comments?

I Loved this book BUT
I hated the fact that there was no index of the stories so you couldn't find the start of any individual story, or if your reading app put you in the wrong place in a story you couldn't
even find the story that you were listening to in the index

Chapters do not align with story

It is very difficult to follow this collection since the chapter stops do not align with the stories. One cannot begin listening to a story in the middle of the collection since stories aren’t book marked.

Masterpiece!

Ursula La Guine delivers an absolute masterpiece!

The Found of the Lost is one of the most incisive anthology of sci-fi and fantasy that I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Le Guin is an absolute master! She expertly delves into into magic, slavery, gender, misogyny, patriarchy, theology, the nature and formation of family and the terrible fragility of life.

The stories flows through all of these topics in creative, lyrical and at times whimsical pros that are delivering in fantastic narrations. She does this all while building credible strong and clear futuristic sci-fi speculative fiction and imaginative fantastic alternate worlds.

This has to be one of the best narrations ever put together on audible. The production was outstanding.

very good

I loved the variety of stories and hearing about my dear friend ged once more. the only problem I found wasn't a book or story issue but is the listing of chapter numbers vs story names and titles. I LOVED the final story and a few between but it would be hard to go back to the beginning of them to re "read" it.

Broken?

The lack of chapter breaks makes this impossible to listen to more than once. I can't seem to scrub forward or rewind either.

running from story to story

entertaining but better breaks and possible an introduction between would help the listener keep track of where they are.

Great Collection

Ursula K Le Guin has been my favorite author for a long time, so I was excited to find so much of her in one place. This is a very high quality collection. Le Guin really shines at worldbuilding and making us love characters quickly, so I honestly think she's at her best when she's writing shorter narratives. Many of the stories are interrelated, so you will get to know some worlds very well after reading three novellas that take place on the same planet, but you see them from different points of view. Several stories take place on a planet whose society is centered around the owning of slaves. You will see this planet through the eyes of a soldier who fought and lost a war against a slave revolution, You will also see this planet through the eyes of a couple different off-planet visitors and hear their varying responses to encountering slavery. Finally, you'll see it through the eyes of a woman who was herself a slave. This series of novellas was probably my favorite thing I read this year.

Ursala Le Guin rediscovered

I remember being fascinated by the thoroughly human descriptions Ursula colours her stories with, which I read when I was a youth. It was delightful to have the same experience again with this anthology. I can’t wait for them to make a screen adaptation. Thought provoking and entertaining!

LeGuin carries us far outside and deep within.

I never imagined enjoying a collection of stories more than a long, tightly-woven tapestry, but so it is.
