Perfection
It’s the classic Queen combo of deep mystery and light comedy, only more so. The formula is a delicate balance that isn’t always as well-executed as it is here. The pace is brisk; some Queen yarns tend to drag (especially when Queen Senior is involved). Of course, the characters – apart from the quirky, querulous Ellery – are pretty stock: the dutiful daughter, the Quixotic suitor, the gold-digging dame. But it all makes for an engaging puzzle and a highly entertaining story.
And Robert Fass is always a pleasure to listen to, making one wish that he (and/or Traber Burns) had been assigned the lion’s share of the Queen canon.

A Great Read
In classic Ellery style, the sleuth goes incognito to investigate a murder where everyone lies. It us a fun stroll down a curvaceous lane.

Good book and performance
This story flowed well and was done by a narrator who did mix up the voices. The end was a good wrap up and led well to next novel the four of hearts

Enjoyed this with a slightly screwball ending
This was fun as the authors kept the plot tight, the inevitable romance happy, the plotline zippy ,
and the slightly screwball plot with twists dancing like Fred & Ginger. Enjoyed it like the masterpiece it was ....

B O R I N G
Might have worked as a short story.
WAAAY too long
painful dialogue, wooden narrator
As it stands, it's so BORING I skipped to the end.
I won't listen to any others.

"Devil may care" in Hollywood
This is another enjoyable mystery. I love how Queen explains it all in the end. It is so much fun to try and guess who the culprit is. I love these mysteries!
