Ted Jacobs, his wife Marilyn, and their seven-year-old daughter Caroline are living what appears to be normal lives in the small Oklahoma town of Colby. On a hot summer evening, the Jacobs family disappear into the mountainous area not far from Colby, leaving behind a set of bewildering clues.
An all-out search for the Jacobs family uncovers still more bizarre elements that raise the question, did the Jacobs disappear on their own accord, or is something more sinister at work?
When Colby’s four favorite senior citizens, John, Jake, Leroy, and Bobby, known around town as The Widowers Club, volunteer to help in the search and follow-up leads for the over-worked and under-staffed MacNabb County Sheriff’s Department, they uncover a vast network of treachery and murder.
The Widowers Club may have just found themselves in more trouble than they bargained for....
