The Reid children live on the Snowy River homestead, where they keep their beloved thoroughbred bay colt called Buzz. One day, the wild filly Yarrawa lures the colt away into the Snowy Mountains. The children set out to recover Buzz, who does not have the survival skills to navigate the desolate landscape on his own. Will the children reach him before he succumbs to the cold winter climate?
