À propos de ce contenu audio

The Best President Money Can Buy is a geopolitical thriller, targeted for release prior to the 2024 presidential election. Based upon fact, the book begins with the creation of the Tennessee Valley Authority by President Roosevelt in the 1930s. Using this historic event as a starting point, it delves into the development of the US electric power grid from coal to today’s various forms of renewable energy.

The story develops as seen through the eyes of its main character, Mr. Jamie Preston. JW Dillon, who is a rich corporate coal mogul, takes Jamie Preston under his wing to repay an old debt owed to Jamie’s father, who was a boyhood best friend of Dillon. As the story unfolds, the book uses the current decrepit state of the aging US power grid and its vulnerability to electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons, such as those developed by People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The main plot develops with a PRC strategy to expand their market for solar power in the United States with the help of corrupt US politicians, knowing that growing US reliance on solar power, coupled with the current antiquated US electric grid, would provide the PRC with a significant economic and military advantage over the US that would weaken US global leadership.

Led by Preston and his supporting characters, the plot evolves as he learns of the PRC intent to cripple the US via a threat to the US grid. So his company develops and launches a counter renewable energy project not susceptible to EMP attack (a system like this does exist). Along the way Preston’s life is threatened, as are the lives of those closest to him, including the life of his fiancée and his coworkers. Their struggle to persevere against the odds stacked against them by PRC clandestine operatives, including a female assassin, corrupt US politicians bought off by the PRC, as well as an unwitting and entrenched solar energy establishment, comprise the subplots.
