The Winter Ball is the event of the season. A time for Melody and her friends to get dressed up. Of course, she never expected that blood-red would not be part of her outfit.
Melody and French Bulldog Smudge are concerned when their Friend Kerry Porter announces she will attend the winter ball with a businessman who has been a little free with the ladies.
Bradford Smedley is a womanizer, so it is no surprise when an old flame interrupts the ball with pictures of them together. Poor Kerry is devastated and rushes out in tears.
When Bradford is later found badly beaten, in Kerry’s house, all the evidence points to her.
Melody makes a decision to keep the Sheriff out of things. Not a good move when they are together! Will Melody and Smudge be able to solve the crime, vindicate her friend, and save her relationship?
