If only Colin and I hadn't drunk so much whiskey, if only I'd kept that red bikini in my suitcase, if only his evil ex-girlfriend hadn't come sniffing around making me feel territorial and protective.

Not that my bad boy rock star best friend is any help. Walking around looking ridiculously sexy, telling me I'm perfect in that panty-melting voice of his when we both swore we’d never do anything to put our friendship at risk. And Colin never breaks a promise.

But then, he has no idea I’ve secretly been in love with him for years.

I guess I should just enjoy the ride, but I can’t stop thinking about what happens with this vacation ends and I head home alone, nursing one hell of a bangover....

C'est à dire que tout est "pas mal", mais guère enthousiasmant dans ce live. L'histoire a des éléments de suspense, mais leur développement est tardif et trop superficiel. Les éléments de comédie romantique sont là mais la part de comédie n'est pas très convaincante, et la part de romance n'est pas très émouvante, la découverte de sentiments d'attraction entre ces 2 amis pas du tout surprenante, ni pour l'un, ni pour l'autre. On se demande ce qui leur a pris autant de temps ! La voix féminine est trop aiguë à mon goût, et si la voix masculine est basse et graveleuse à souhait, le ton est un peu trop monotone.
Which mean, every thing is "meh" and not enthusing in this book. The story contains elements of suspense, but their development is too late and shallow. Elements of romantic comedy are present, but the comedy isn't convincing and the romance not really moving: the discovery of attraction between the 2 friends not surprising at all, not from the girl point of vue, nor from the guy's. One's wondering what took them so long!
The feminine voice is too high for me, and if the male voice is low and gritty yummy, it is a bit too monotone.
