À propos de ce contenu audio

Storyteller Donald Davis had a very sensible mother. She had a pretty good idea of what boys would do, so she was always on the lookout. As Davis later learned, always being on the lookout is what mamas do. His vigilant but gentle mother gave her son multiple gifts in life and, as we learn in the end, gifts that do not end with her passing.©2001 August House Publishers, Inc (P)2001 Donald Davis, Storyteller, Inc. Avis de l'équipe

When North Carolina storyteller Davis was 5 years old, he was sent to the grocery store all by himself. As he returned home, he saw a newspaper being delivered into a neighbor's mailbox. He had always envied those with home-delivered papers, and he decided to take it. Suddenly, out of nowhere came the voice of God - who sounded much like his mama - saying, "Put it back!" Davis shares this in an emotional and breathless voice, just as a little boy would. His mama later explained that she did that to him because "that's what mamas do." His memory of that continues throughout his life as he still follows her sage advice.
