A carefree summer sailboat vacation takes a sudden and mysterious turn when three teens, TJ, Jenny, and Amanda find themselves stranded on spooky Shaman Island. It’s a place where time doesn’t pass reliably, where mysterious ghostly figures linger, some from the distant past, and where the Shaman, whose unpronounceable native name translates to Kills-Without-Warning, ... “But call me Rick,” ...holds their fates in his hands.
As TJ discovers a shared bloodline with the Shaman, his own shamanic powers begin to grow. He learns to shapeshift to become Raven, to fly, to gain powers he might only have dreamed of. But Rick’s warm welcome soon cools as he finds his powers challenged, his plans to plunder and dominate thwarted.
Can one island contain two Shamanic powers? Can TJ even hope to triumph over an 800-year-old adversary who is as sly and cunning as he is vicious — and willing to leverage TJ’s growing attraction to Jenny, to get his way. Will TJ and the girls survive to get off the island, to ever make it home. When struggling, Rick summons the Great Congress, an Unkindness of Ravens, to hear charges against TJ.
