Description
Ford Maddox was running from his past when he came back to Blueberry Cove, Maine, where he'd tasted both heartache and comfort. With feisty Delia O'Reilly there to cheer him on, he couldn't have picked a better place to start over - even if he's determined to do it alone in his island tree house, working to save endangered seabirds...and himself. But when he finds Delia fighting to hold on to her local diner, and all that's best about their little seaside town, Ford has to lend a hand. Suddenly two fiercely independent people are building something sweeter than they ever imagined...together.
DIY is so much better with two....

What about the Plot??
I liked the first book in this series alright, but the second and third were so tedious! I almost stopped in in middle of the second one, and I really can’t finish this one. In both, the author starts off with an intriguing plot only to squander it in agonizing sexual speculation, relationship angst and sex. I’ve read books with a great balance of plot action and relationship development. Robyn Carr’s books are a great example. She builds and develops characters and relationships while moving the action of fascinating plots along. Here there is a frustratingly small sprinkle of plot development now and then while the characters spend pages and chapters in angst over their feelings about themselves and each other. A lifelong business is stolen out from under someone, land is stolen but rather than working on the problem the characters agonize most about their sex interest. Enough.

Seriously irritating narrator
This woman had the worst way of speaking. She has a nice voice (a little like a munchkin though) but she used snotty and hoity ways of speaking that grated on my nerves. I couldn’t finish the book!

Sandpiper Island
Donna Kauffman has put together another excellent book/audiobook in this series. It’s about trust and love and leaning on another person for strength. The narrator was very good. You were able to stay interested in the book the whole way through.

Good story
Overall, good. The narrator never quite got Delia’s voice right. Sometime Delia sounded like an old lady and sometimes like a pre teen. Get that her voice would change when crying or excited or other emotions, but the changes took place when other female voices were in the same scene so Delia had an old lady’s voice when others had the more youthful voice, but she has a youthful voice when a male character was in the scene.

Boring
Too much sex & not enough plot. The most interesting part of the entire book was the story around the baby puffin.

Wrong Order
Let me start out by saying the book is wonderful. It has just the right amount of romance, the character development is excellent, and there is even some intrigue.
My problem is that it didn't seem to fit as Book 3 in the series. The first two were definitely connected. The characters were pretty much the same, the location was the same for most purposes, and they were both read by the same person. with two sisters married, I thoroughly expected this one to be about the next sister.
Along comes book 3. Different voice, completely different characters except for a few minor parts, and by reading the first two you knew what was going to happen to the diner. Personally, I think it would be better as the first or second in the series, not the third.
Now I'm going to see if there is a fourth in the series. I sure hope so!

Bachelors of Blueberry Cove
Read this series before the other Blueberry Cove books because they set the stage.
