Prof. Jeffrey Cole and his three young assistants ventured deep into the dark backwoods Appalachian mountains of Northern Georgia to study the effects of a mad, itinerant preacher, Father Divine, and his fanatical religious cult on the mountain people there. It had been 100 years since the crazed preacher and his true believers terrorized and murdered the people on Salvation Mountain, before they disappeared into the night.
