Rise Up Virtues Devotional For Kids explores inspiring bible passages, demonstrating to preteens how God's wisdom can help and support them as they grow. Each chapter addresses one of 15 virtues, all inspired by Saint Thomas Aquinas’ writings on virtues in his influential work, Summa Theologiae.

For the first time, this collection of over a dozen writers provides an in-depth, age-appropriate view of virtues steeped in the Catholic tradition for children ages eight to 12. The chapter, written in a seven day format, begins with an introduction by Susanna Spencer, our Theological Editor who holds a Masters in Theology from the University of Steubenville. She also shares her thoughts on a Scripture passage that exemplifies that virtue.

For the next five days, one of our Blessed is She writers offers daily spirited reflections, spanning a moment in history class as Benjamin Franklin, to being dubbed the superhero “Prudence” and performing a judo throw on her instructor. Those five days begin with scripture or a Saint quote, brief enough to memorize or pray and end in a short prayer authored by our managing editor, Nell O’Leary. Susanna wraps up the week with a thought-provoking and encouraging conclusion and prayer.

Give these religious audiobooks to boys and girls to help them learn scripture and the wisdom of the saints, as well as to help them grow in virtue.
