    Description

Ruddy McCann is back in Repo Madness - the laugh-out-loud, thrilling adventure from best-selling author W. Bruce Cameron!

Ruddy McCann, former college football star, now Kalkaska, Michigan, repo man, is finally getting his life back on track. He has a beautiful fiancée, Katie Lottner; a somewhat stable job stealing cars; and a lazy, lovable basset hound.

With his job suddenly in jeopardy, his fiancée wanting a break, and a new court-ordered psychiatrist insisting he take his medication or violate the terms of his probation, Ruddy finds himself missing the one thing he thought he would be happy to be rid of - the voice of Alan Lottner, dead realtor and Ruddy's future father-in-law. When a woman tells Ruddy that the tragedy that defines his life may in fact be a lie, Ruddy starts to investigate the disappearances of women in the area and soon discovers that his own redemption may be within reach.

Alan's voice returns, and Ruddy and Alan work together to bring down a corrupt banker, win back Katie's love, and stop a serial killer before he can strike again.

    Repo Madness Worth The Wait!

The Midnight Plan of the Repo Man remains one of my favorite Audible experiences. In fact, after listening to Repo Madness, I have begun relistening for the 3rd time!

Like its predecessor, Repo Madness is funny, clever, ironic and entirely unique. Outstanding characters, quick witted banter and great suspense collude to deliver another 5 star experience fom Bruce Cameron.

Though it stands well on its on, you really should read the series in order.

RC Bray does a great job, though original narrator George Wilson was better at capturing the irony and humor.

    Disappointing

All the way through the book, I struggled with its poor quality and wondered why it was so different from the first one (The Midnight Plan of the Repo Man). Finally it occurred to me: the narrator of this one is different from the other one. that occurred to me immediately, of course, because one character's voice is very different and not as well-done as in the first novel. Eventually, though, I came to realize that one character wasn't the only problem.

R.C. Bray, this reader, makes both of the main male characters angry and just mean. He also manages to do this despite the plainly-stated cues from the writer. For example, if the main character says, "Because I missed you," I joked, thereader will make it sound like he said, "Because I despise you," I snarled. By the end of the book, I kind of wished they would both be shot.

Otherwise, the plot was good, I THINK, but I won't listen to any more books read by this narrator.

    Sophomore Slump

Well, this happens sometimes when the first book of a series is a home run; the second disappoints. Repo Madness was like being stuck in the car with two bickering teenagers on a long road trip. The humorous relationship between Alan and Ruddy evaporated and that was half the fun of the first book. Instead, I wondered why the writer bothered to bring Alan back at all. Just so Ruddy would have someone to tell to shut up? Somewhere, the genre changed from paranormal cozy, which is noted for its humor, to psychological thriller and it didn't work. Disappointing.

The story continues - great contemporary fantasy

Entertaining, although a tad darker than the first book. The change in narrator made for a change in tone - more brash with a bickering delivery.

I recognize the brash and bickering character in the inner voice of the realtor as very similar to a character the same narrator uses in a Military Science Fiction series called Expedition Force, for the character of Skippy - an AI device found that insults humans as monkeys and pulls pranks throughout the series for comedy in the books. But, here in the Repo Man series, the narrator's voice changed the genteel, intelligent, and moral character of the realtor too much and the previous contrast in the two characters - which was the very interesting Thing between them - was thus reduced.

This would not have been noticed if the first narrator hadn't already portrayed the difference between the repo man and the realtor's voices. Now the voices barely changed and the realtor's voice was brash and pushy.

Oh well. The story was still good, and the characters well done. The twisty plot - well thought out and presented - made the story interesting.

Finally back, can't wait for more

A dry but hilarious second installment that follows our hero, Ruddy (the fearless repo man), through the tribulations of solving a serial murderer case, love, psychiatry, psychotics, and, of course, repo-ing. It's not exactly necessary to read the first book in the series. I actually had forgotten a lot of what happened in the first one, which I also loved so maybe you should read it. If you like quirky characters, amateur detective work, and lazy dogs you will enjoy this book.

    ok

I like Bray as a narrator, but I really missed George as the voices of Ruddy and Alan.

    as good as the first!

I really loved the story! same suspense and humor from the first. the only complaint is the change of the narrator. changed the dynamics of the characters from the first books, still very enjoyable though.

    So much fun

I am glad to ave discovered Ruddy as performed by the previous narrator, but I really enjoy RC Bray and am delighted to have him narrate this story. I really like these characters. I feel like I have ew friends. The plots are interesting and simple enough for me to follow. I hate it when too many characters are involved. I like this family and I do hope this isn't the last book about them.

    Easy listening

Funny for crime novel. Good who done it. Narrated seemed old for the main character.

    What a wonderful discovery!

I’d read a Dogs Purpose but randomly discovered this gem. I love the narrator so the story and reading made for a wonderful listen! I literally found myself laughing out loud. Well written, kept moving along at a good pace and exciting plot!
