Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet.
Darrow - and Reds like him - are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class. Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow sacrifices everything to infiltrate the legendary Institute, a proving ground for the dominant Gold caste, where the next generation of humanity's overlords struggle for power. He will be forced to compete for his life and the very future of civilization against the best and most brutal of Society's ruling class. There, he will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies...even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

A great mix of popular books and video games becoming it‘s own amazing thing
The beginning started a bit slowly but then I couldnt stop listening anymore until the book was finished. Will definitely continue with the next episode of the red rising saga

I can't put it down
Had it been a physical book, it would have been the kind of book I carry around everywhere in my hands so that I can read it every moment I have. Wonderfully written and read and with themes and problematics both far away from and very close to the ones we face today.

Un plot à la hunger games
Performance : pour une non anglophone maternelle c’est parmi beaucoup d’autres titres en anglais celui qui m’a posé le plus de problèmes de compréhension à cause d’un accent très « cockney » pris pour incarner certains personnages au début de l’histoire. Comme on change ensuite de classe sociale j’ai eu besoin de faire moins d’efforts de compréhension.
Histoire : très rythmée avec son lot de plot twist, de trahison et de scènes bien sanglantes à la hunger games (jusqu’à la chanson). Si vous aimez ce genre de dystopie ce livre est fait pour vous. Moi ça m’a emballé.

Gros coup de cœur pour cet ouvrage en anglais!
J’ai adoré ce livre fantastique que j’ai écouté et lu en simultané (pour les non anglophones, je recommande +++) ! La narration était pépite. L’histoire évoque les sujets de la vengeance, de la ségrégation, de la trahison. Il y a plein de batailles et de retournements! J’avais toujours hâte de retourner à mon livre 😊
