Description

Realmslayer is the most exciting project I have worked on in years, and playing Gotrek fired my imagination with wonder. He possesses enormous courage and imagination, and is totally fearless – more powerful than any hero in literature and history.

What a challenge! It was like playing ten King Lears at once! He will live forever.

(Brian Blessed, the voice of Gotrek Gurnisson in Realmslayer)

Gotrek Gurnisson was the greatest monster slayer of the age, who met his doom at the End Times. The heroic duardin stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world's ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger.

Now Gotrek has returned, having outlived the old gods and the Old World. Spat from the ruinous depths with his redemption unfulfilled, he emerges into the Mortal Realms, a strange new world where gods walk the earth and dark forces are ascendant. Nothing is as he remembers. His oaths are dust, and the lands are torn asunder by Chaos.

Yet when Gotrek learns of human champions being elevated to immortality for Sigmar’s fight against this darkness, the so-called 'Stormcast Eternals', he knows why fate has brought him into this new age. To find Felix. For only then can he find the peace in death he seeks. But is there more to Gotrek's apotheosis than even he can fathom? Has he truly been chosen by Grimnir and for what purpose?

Solid return for Gotrek

My only complaint is how brief everything is but its a surprisingly good return to form of the original series mixed with the straight high fantasy of the second authors books. The changes to Gotrek are appropriate for a dwarf stuck in the realm of Chaos for about ten thousand years and the characters that come along perfectly fitting.

Well voice acted, accompanying sound effects perfectly over the top, chapters get broken up into parts sort of like the originals in Trollslayer and Skavenslayer and is used to good effect. Very reminiscent of where the series started without being an uninspired series of repeats.

Now we need the original series done this way, plus all of Ciaphas Cain, Black Librarys latest effort for their audio have been amazing and these older series seeing new love is amazing.

An excellent story

Great, even if you're not familiar with the previous Felix and Gotrek fiction. All I knew going in was that they were a dwarf and a human who had some adventures.

Brian Blessed IS PERFECT in this role

Narration is amazing, however the story falters at a few points throughout the book.
Overall worth having grabbed, especially if you are a fan of the series.

A great introduction to Age of Sigmar

I was into Warhammer during Fantasy. And like Gotrek, I hate AoS because of stupid stuff in the setting, and nonsensical lore that's just confusing. I daresay Gotrek provides the perfect foil for Fantasy player to ease into AoS by doing as the Slayer does-ignore everything that makes no sense and focus on the good parts.

My favorite audio drama to date!

A perfect blend of cast, characters and story that anyone could get behind. I would buy it again if I could just to prove the point of how amazing this audio drama was.

I only wish it lasted longer. Amazing that each character has their own voice actor. I cant wait for the next in the series.

Gortek makes a huge entrance!

This is the best audio drama I've had the pleasure to listen to. Everything is amazing. All of the actors' performance is fantastic, revealing an enthusiasm for the story being told and to for their work. The story is a perfect introduction for Gortek coming to the Age of Sigmar. Brian Blessed is perfect for the Doomslayer and I hope does more of them.

Amazing voiceacting and great story but...

Its short enought to leave a bitte taste.

The 5th out of 5 chapter is a interview with all the actors, so the lenght is actually a bit more over 4 Hours than the 5:30 as noted in the informations.

Nevertheless i can fully recommend this as the Story is good and the voiceacting is just Wonderful.

Lets just hope there is more comming soon!

Gotrek is back

Never have I ever heard a voice made this perfect for a character. Brian Blessed is truly one of the great ones.
But that does not mean, the other members of the cast are not noteworthy. They all act their part in a great fashion.
I got immersed really quick and "binged" Realmslayer.

Just buy, you will not regret it!
