Description
Contains books one and two of Quick Change, a litRPG adventure series.
Slyborn, book one
Seth Andersen, a UX designer, was driving home from a bad day at work when his world changed, literally. Seth is instantly transferred to the world of Morgenheim, where knights in shining armor and magic are normal, and citizens must actually “level up” to get stronger. Seth is given the chance to choose a boon from a list of incredible super powers, but accidentally chooses seemingly the most useless power in the list. Can he make it on his own in this world of magic and monsters?
Spire, book two
The only way out is up. Seth and the Adventurers’ Guild survived their clash with the Howlingshields and have been rebuilding the last few months. While Seth is mostly used to life in the land of Morgenheim, he’s struggling with the responsibilities that come with being a high level member in the guild.
While completing a quest as a favor to his friend Pahan, Seth inadvertently catches the attention of Djinia, goddess of adventurers, and is given a seemingly impossible quest that will require the help of the Adventurers’ Guild and their primary rivals, the Transportation Guild. When the two groups aren’t sabotaging each other, their combined might overcomes numerous dungeons with surprising ease...until they catch sight of a thin spire stretching high into the sky at the center of a mysterious desert.

Dropped at the beginning of second book
The characters eventually ruined this for me. Particularly in book 2, which i dropped very early. I found them both incredibly annoying and unlikeable.
Particularly Seth with his 'anger' issues which never feel genuine, just... there.

written for a 10 year old
The overall concept of the story is a good one unfortunately the main character is a grown man with a college degree that works in a highly competitive industry and yet once he leaves for the other world turns into an absolute idiot makes poor decisions act like a moron can't talk can't interact with people it has no common sense whatsoever. the overall story is written like your 10 year old trying to read a book it's dumb down to the point where it's frustrating and depressing to even try to get through.

It just felt deeply generic
The story feels deeply generic. Like the author used LITRPG MadLibs to write it.
Our hero ______ was summoned to the world of ___________ by __________. He was gifted the class __________ and special ability _____________. He meets a friendly __________ who explains the leveling system. From there he journeys to __________ to meet with _____________. On the way he encounters ________________. Through the encounter he discovers his ability can _____________.
**********MINOR SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST BOOK******************
I dropped this book shortly after we meet what I assume is the Big Bad Evil Guy (BBEG). We meet him when we discover that he and his minions have massacred an entire castles worth of our friends/allies. Is it explained why BBEG did this? No. Is there horror from the characters at seeing bodies of their allies stacked waist high? Also No. At least not at the point when I dropped it. They gave the same emotional response I gave when I was playing WoW back in the day in the Undead sections of the game. "Oh wow that's a lot of bodies....anyway next quest item is over here..."

probably okay for a kid
not for anyone older than maybe 10. written with scattered thoughts, repetitive base descriptions, while also containing no explanation for story world details needed to warm this story. also the female characters voices are horrible and I mean truly horrible. its a slog. good luck, I wouldn't waste the credit again. Mary Sue book to boot.

bad wording
I'm not a word Smith, but neither is the writer of this book. there's a lot of interaction between people that doesn't seem natural or real. the wording is wrong somewhat grammatically. but I think worse than most things is the person reading the book doesn't understand the situations he is reading. he doesn't put any intensity or inflection in any of his words and just speaks as if he's talking to somebody about a list of things. he has a nice tone but does not modify it and he does not have any comedic timing at all. this post that I have just written is probably just as grammatically correct as the book.

Needs Character Development.
It's easy to see the story lines the author is trying to explore. However he fails to build up any foundation for more than just the main arc. If he were to spend more effort on character development, and treat them less like a D&D spreadsheet he could really have something here.
The narrator should also develope more voice diversity. All of the female dialogue sounds the same, and the male voices only have 4 options.

A few issues but a worthwhile story
bad editing in spots, poor word usage in others, and a narrator that says various words as if he has only ever seen them written, never spoken. once you get past that it is a good story.

Slower start, but it grows on ya
Good story, it’s a slower start for an litrpg but, worth the listen. My only complaint is I would have enjoyed a more complex story tread through out the book.

one of the worst
This has one of the worst LitRPG story beginnings I have ever come across, meaning I couldn't stand it anymore and stopped in chapter 5. The protagonist is a weak minded bumbling idiot, the story even makes him cry for 10 minutes with the only implied reason being:"buuhuuhuu! I'm out of my comfort zone!" I understand that authors need weak protagonists for these surprise hero stories, but weak can't mean incompetent to a point where the protagonist is a 5 year old kid in a grown up body. This story tells me that the protagonist was able to get a manager job in our world but he is so oblivious that he doesn't understand that he's on child lvl strength in the other world even after being told exactly that and seeing examples of that fact numerous times, that's just insulting for every person on this planet.
