Book 2

This whole series, is one of my favorites! It’s a fantasy with a bit of romance. Full of action and suspense. I have read the whole series over again and again. Being a picky book listener- it’s got to be really good for me to want to do that! I love many of JLA’s books, but this series is my top of the list fav’s!

I really don't like Alex...

I don't like the main character. She's dry, childish, and just plan unlikable... but I do find the story itself interesting.

Can no longer listen to thes series ???

WHY???? is this series not playble on the cloud devise? Extremely dissappoihnted . Is my favorite series. Now, only lucky if can find on youtube , is segments ..

Please, fix this.

you did this previously to Have Spacesuit Will Travel . Another story I can listen to and enjoy often.

great series

I love this series so much. hope more keep coming. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone , so I'll just say that I was upset when they killed him off. jennifer did such a great job of building up the people that you feel like you know them,. looking forward to the next book. thanks keep up the good work

Not your average triangle

Well, not a triangle really, but oh dang, still so good! Seth is a pain in the A, but how can you not love his irritating nature? Alex is my all-time favorite FMC ever! I could seriously listen to this series over and over. Time to DL this to my ph.

Poor performance

The performance was poor. She does not have enough talent to change voices for each individual. Suddenly everyone has a weird accent. And poor Alex sounds so breathy. Very hard to listen to her.

Narrator is so hard to listen to

So, the premise of these stories is alright, kind of intriguing but I can’t stand the whine the narrator gives to the main character and some of the male characters. Sometimes the whine and uptick in pitch she does at the end of sentences is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Then other times she’s trying way to hard to have a low rasp. She makes the main character even more pathetic than she already is at times.

I think JLA was attempting to make a strong female character but so far I just see a boy crazy teen. There are times when the MC makes just like, an annoyingly obvious choice and then acts stupid or whines and asks the men what’s going on when a two year old could grasp what’s going on. Too much focus on the love interest stuff and not enough on the cool sh*t in my opinion. Would rather some cool world building or backstory or layers vs her pathetically swooning over a guy all the time.

Enthralling

Pros:
- love triangle with all the feels
- Alex has some personal growth
- invokes angry and self righteous feelings
- mystery of who is really good and bad

Cons:
- Alex acts like a 12yr old girl about Aiden
- Alex only thinks about the oracle's message after something happens instead of trying to piece it together

This was my favorite in the series so far. I did not put it down even when I should have been doing something else. i did the Kindle and Audible so I could go back and forth. The narration is amazing. You can clearly tell characters apart and they show emotion instead of just reading.

I know from the Oracle's message that Seth is the need and Aiden is the real love but it doesn't make me any less enamored with both. Time will tell which is real and enduring.

Who is the guy who has everyone fooled...Lucian, Marcus, Telly, Seth? Read the Seth POV at the end of the Kindle to get some insight or get more confused.

Moving onto the next one and cannot wait.

frustrating

While I enjoy Jennifer's storylines, I often find myself maddeningly frustrated by the selfishness and immaturity of her heroines. There are many ways to progress a storyline without absurd stupidity. On one hand, they are fearless, strong, and loving. On the other, they make profoundly selfish decisions and actions as if they are the only one who matters.

Emotional & action packed w/a fantastic narrator!

I love this world and characters so much. I would give Pure way more than 5 stars. Alex may be reckless but she does everything with the best of intentions. She want to make the world for half bloods better and no accept the horrible fate that befalls a lot of them. This book kept falling at my heartstrings. I feel so bad for Alwx and everything that she has been through and lost. Seth was by her side and at times I really route foe him but Aidan...Aidan is so now and perfect for Alex except for being a pure blood. I can't wait to see of Lucian is hiding anything he just feels so fake. After what happens in New York I hope it stays hidden but am worried about what is to come. Can't wait to continue with this amazing series. Justine Eyre is such a great narrator. She puts so much emotion into it and I will say it again, I really like her guy voice. She is one of my favorite narrators and will look for more from her.
