    Description

Don't have enough money saved up for retirement? No problem. Never started a 401k or IRA? Don't worry. And are you so far behind in your personal finances you're worried you'll never be able to retire? It's all good. Because whether you know it or not, the entire US retirement system is horribly flawed and was doomed to fail anyway. And that's why every American needs to listen to Poor Richard's Retirement.

Poor Richard's Retirement is a revolutionary retirement system because, unlike today's conventional retirement planning, it works. It puts retirement easily within the reach of your everyday man. Whether you have student loans, a mortgage, are behind in your retirement planning, or have no retirement savings at all, this book bypasses it all by showing you how little you truly need to retire. And it does so through the simple truth that happiness is not found in $400 yoga pants, luxury SUVs, McMansions, or whatever lies they're selling you on TV, but through love of family, friends, and your fellow man. All of which are free.

Make retirement infinitely easier and life happier. Buy Poor Richard's Retirement today. Nobody in America has saved enough for retirement...until now.

    save your money....

    let me summarize.....

live frugally and don't accumulate masses of unnecessary material things
save as much as you can for retirement
spend time with friends and family.

this book is nothing about how to go about saving for retirement or investing for retirement.

    Worth the listen

The book took a very interesting perspective on retirement. Clarey swims upstream and informs his audience that they should focus on what matters most: people not things.

    Excellent Advice for Everyone

This short book outlines the basic framework of how to recognize what is really important to you, and how to de-clutter your life. It details an important concept: stop buying shit you don't need with money you don't have.

    Loved this audible

One of my favorites from Aaron. This bok is enjoyable from start to finish. I also appreciated that Aaron mentions the problems with being cheap.

    An important book on relationships

The retirement advice was good, but it was outstanding when talking about life relationships.

Contains a lot of great advice

Contains a lot of great advice, but the performance was mediocre. I would not let this distract you from considering all the advice this book has to offer.

    Great Book!

I liked everything about this book. Simple and easy to grasp.

It’s for anyone who doesn’t want to work for the rest of their lives. The book also gives a different perspective on retirement and provides steps that if followed will make retirement a reality for you.

    Bad advice

Largely inaccurate in my view, denies statistical realities. Will resonate with conspiracy theorists, chicken littles, and victocrats. not Poor Richard but Poor Listener/Reader who gets side tracked with flawed financial advice. I have lived, practiced, and reaped the benefits many times over of mainstream investment approaches that this author claims cannot succeed. Oh, so wrong, and oh, so reckless to buy into this snake oil. Yes, spend less. Yes, eliminate debt. But this book is teeter-tottered in only that direction. And where does $500k come from as an adequate retirement amount? That will only support annual spending of $20k (Trinity study) - good luck with that nest egg. And the punch line of this book, is umm, don't retire, because hmm, following the thinking in this book, you would be set up to not have that option. Footnote - not a single empirical example to support this work. That concerns me. Does it concern you?

    Great Book

I would definitely recommend this to my friends. I wish people would depend on themselves for their retirement and invest.
