In a quiet town in Maine, as a winter storm rages around it, Nocturne Hall sits atop a mountain: an old-fashioned hospital that inspires both power and mystery. A young hit-and-run victim is brought in by ambulance, and the staff and patients go about another normal day. But this is not a normal day, and this is not a normal town.
In the spots on the map where light does not linger, there are dark things lurking in the shadows that not even the angels in heaven or the demons in hell can comprehend. And those dark things like to play, with claws and teeth that scratch and bite.
