À propos de ce contenu audio

PAIN WILL COME. IT’S WHAT YOU DO WITH IT THAT SHAPES YOUR LIFE.

From the author of “Renting From My 6-Year-Old” comes a book about facing and overcoming even the toughest challenges, and rising to your greatest triumphs.

In just his late 30s, Chris Bystriansky found himself out of options.

Chris was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis in both hips—excruciatingly painful and degenerative conditions that are debilitating if left untreated.

And during this time, he learned that he and his wife were expecting.

Now, facing the reality of needing two full hip replacement surgeries, just 18 months apart, and a baby daughter on the way, any doubts about such an invasive procedure were pointless.

It was time to act.

Enduring the pain and challenges of the surgery, Chris then embarked on years of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

And soon he found that he was not only improving, he was able to move better than he had before.

His improvement was so good, in fact, that he started to wonder about a crazy idea—could he participate in grueling triathlon events? The triathlon events were comprised of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a full 26.2-mile marathon.

With his “condition”, what business did Chris have participating in physically and mentally demanding events?

Despite the challenges, despite the odds, Chris pushed himself, trained, and eventually completed not one but two triathlon events, just six weeks apart.

And now he’s sharing what that experience taught him.

Whether you’re facing your own hip replacement surgery or want to train for something like a triathlon, or you simply find yourself facing extreme challenges in your own life, this book is your guide to putting steel in your bones and doing what you may never have thought was possible.
