The story is about a young girl named Nova who has a special relationship with her great-grandmother, whom she calls Meme. Meme is a wise and adventurous woman who shares her life stories with Nova, who is fascinated by them. They spend their time together on the porch, sipping lemonade and talking. Meme treats Nova like she is the most important person in the world and gives her little trinkets from her travels. As Nova grows older, her love for Meme never wavers, and she continues to visit her every week, even becoming a storyteller herself. Nova realizes that having a great-grandmother like Meme is a true blessing and is grateful for the memories they have created together.
