These stories are taken from the original black-and-white Ivor the Engine television series, first broadcast between 1959 and 1962.
Preserved from the original recordings, the audio reflects the production methods of the time and includes some natural variation in sound quality.
This is part of the character and authenticity of these early episodes, offering a rare opportunity to hear Ivor and his world as they were first experienced.
In Mr Brangwyn's Box, Ivor, Jones and Evans the Song find themselves in the middle of pigeon trouble and a very awkward delivery for Mr Brangwyn. It is a cheerful village muddle with pigeons, parcels and comic confusion.
Restoration note: First recorded in the 1950s, these classic performances have been lovingly remastered using the best surviving source material to provide the finest possible listening experience. While every effort has been made to improve clarity, the age and condition of the original recordings mean that occasional background interference or minor imperfections may still be audible. We hope you enjoy this beautifully restored classic.
