On the outside, Kathleen’s life looks perfect. She is married to a dashing young doctor. They have adorable twin daughters. She even has a budding legal career; her husband is putting her through law school. There is only one problem. Kathleen is addicted to drugs and alcohol. She thinks she is hiding her problem, but it explodes her life, and something has to change—and this change begins when her sister takes her to a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Kathleen’s recovery is not all smooth and easy. Over the years, with support from friends and her family, she meets the challenges that life can bring: her own cancer, her children growing up and leaving home, and her husband’s near-fatal motorcycle accident.
