    Description

Big-city sophistication meets carnal hunger in this devilish contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.

James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man - it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?

Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes - and out of them - he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…

    Unbelievably Immature Female Lead

Elizabeth Banks is 25 years old, THE daughter of a powerful and wealthy man, a Stanford graduate vying to be the next CEO of the company her father created. She is beautiful, confident, worldly and educated. She works everyday of her life to earn her father's respect. So when her father asks her to take his place at a launch party for hundreds of the movers and shakers in their industry does she step up to the responsibility? I won't say what happens because I don't want to put any spoilers in this review.
I understand there are only so many tropes for "romance" novels. The formulaic impossible relationship followed by perceived or real betrayal then forgiveness and a HEA ending. What would make an author as good as Katy Evans stoop to making the female lead behave as she does? Surely there were other ways to make the story line work. I'm very disappointed and will be returning this book.

    It was okay

Liz and James is good together. The two were attracted to each other from the start but they didn't rush into it. They took the time to know each other and still manage to have a good work relationship.Liz's behavior at the Launch though, seriously that's the best way you could handle that situation? Almost ruined the whole book for me. I'm on the fence on this one so it's a 3.5⭐ for me. Some of Liz's ideas for making James into the perfect man didn't sit well with me either. My suggestion is read this one yourself to form your own opinion you might enjoy it a lot more than I did

    Is it me??

The female narrator sounds like she has a retainer in!! It ruins the story which is also not great..

    Loved this!

Swoon! I love it when the guy is relentless in his pursuit and she fights her feelings out of propriety and fails. 🥰 It's like a modern reverse My Fair Lady retelling with the same emotional ups and downs.

    Million dollar love story!

A sexy and intriguing read. Undeniable chemistry and irresistible attraction between Lizzie and James (Jimmy). A connection neither of them expected and couldn’t deny. I loved their witty banter. Narrators did very well at bringing these characters and story to life.

    Unexpected love.

The beast turned into a prince. This story is unexpectedly sweet, and so good. I’m very surprised and happy the way it turns out. I really enjoy reading Million Dollar Devil, another reason to never judge someone until you know the reason behind their actions.

Not my favorite of Katy Evans, still enjoyed.

Maybe it's because I took some time before I finally was able to get to this one, but I didn't mind this at all. I added on to the experience and decided to listen to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it.

I'll have to say that this was an interesting concept and not one that I've read before. I will say that it wasn't my favorite kind of plot, but it was still a good read.

I can't say that Lizzy is a huge a favorite, but she was definitely someone to come around to. She definitely worked her a** off to get her dad to finally approve of everything she's done for him. But she had a lot of growth as the story went along, she became stronger and started to stand up for herself.

And my goodness, James was a bit rough around the edges, but I love how he didn't care what people though of him. And how loyal he was to his brother and Lizzy. He was relentless and I was just waiting for Lizzy to give in.

Million Dollar Devil wasn't my favorite of Katy Evans, but I genuinely enjoyed the heck out of this!

Narrators: Honestly, these two weren't my favorite narrators, but I still managed to get through the audiobook. It's the voiceovers that get to me sometimes.

    Does the perfect man exist?

Million Dollar Devil is book 1 in the Million Dollar series by Katy Evans. I have been a huge Katy Evans fan since the Man Whore series, so this one was an instant 1-click for me. Katy Evans knows how to write male characters who are so gruff, yet also vulnerable. Jimmy Rowan was no exception. This story moves a little slower than the author’s previous series, so it took a little bit to get going, but I loved the beginning and I was super happy with how it ended as well. It was just the middle that was a little slow. Although, I absolutely loved both Jimmy and Lizzy, so I didn’t really mind that it was a slow burn.

I also really enjoyed the narration by Grace Grant and Ryan West. I thought the narration added to the story and I know I will listen again.

    Save your time.

I struggled to finish this book neither of the characters you really grabbed my attention honestly I can't even really remember their names. The premise was week, and the climax seemed forced. She never really became a strong female just got really drunk and blurted out the big secret… then somehow the fall out was OK. I enjoy Katy Evans but would not recommend this book

Can’t stand the voice and the reader

I tried so hard to get past the voice and the reader, but it was so irritating that after five minutes I had to just turn it off. It’s like she has a lisp. And worse when she did that male voice.
