Seriously, what was the weirdest place you've ever met someone? What about a place with no address, where the weather was always perfect, the scenery stunning, yet death was as close as your next breath?

The choice to go there for Madison McBride and her sister, Winter, was simple. They had no choice. Their parents were the chief designers of the first underwater city on the planet. They packed three suitcases each and said goodbye to every friend they had.

They traveled by helicopter to an isolated platform in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, then descended ever deeper by submarine until it was almost dark. A new life awaited as they surfaced inside the blue-green waters of Oceana's largest moon pool. The underwater city was solid as a rock, with the latest technology. What could possibly go wrong?

The girls met Owen, a boy their age who arrived when construction began. He knew all the secrets. As more friends are made, Owen told of a mermaid conclave living in caves near Oceana. No one believed his story, not for one minute. They were certain it was a fairytale or a fantasy that was only alive in his imagination.

In dark waters near the abyss, Owen received a warning and an old glass bottle. When he shared the contents of the bottle with Madison and the others, it set into motion a series of events that could endanger the lives of everyone in Oceana.
