    I’m only up to week 5 for now, but I’m loving this book so far! It’s a proper method for learning the language, not a phrase book or dictionary-like list of words to memorize.

    Dialogs are used to introduce new grammar and vocabulary in each chapter.
    The grammar is explained in a practical way then demonstrated with examples, and backed up with practice exercises to help it sink in. Vocabulary is taught as needed, not as huge lists to memorize beforehand.
    Each chapter is split into smaller steps that we can go back and listen to as needed, but I do wish those sub chapters were easier to access in the Audible app.

    Te Reo Maori being largely a spoken language, I’m really enjoying this way of learning – by listening to it and speaking out loud (even though it’s only to myself hah). I don’t know how good I’ll be by the end of the book, but I’m enjoying the journey of reclaiming my heritage thanks to this book.
