    Very well written, compelling and moving. Banks dives deep into the world of the most stigmatised individuals in society through the Kid's character, to bring out the tragic consequences but also the extremely interesting thought process and emotional evolution. Both the Kid and the Professor are powerfully characterised in many aspects, and their peculiar relationship can make the reader (or most readers) completely drawn to the story and its outcome. My own personal experience has been deeply enriching and transformative in many ways. Although I often work in prison as an artist and I am used to a non-judgemental gaze towards all inmates, Lost Memory of Skin has allowed me to know much more about sex offending and its consequences and has provided a deeper understanding of what might bring some humans to commit such crimes. Scott Shepherd's voice and performance is outstanding, with subtle emotional nuances, and makes me want to listen to the book all over again.
