This book closely examines the Lord’s Prayer. Each part of the prayer is analyzed in light of what Jesus taught His disciples about prayer. The Lord’s Prayer serves as a wonderful example of praying in harmony with God’s will. Although the disciples walked with Jesus daily and witnessed Him heal the sick, perform miracles, multiply food, and turn water into wine, they longed to learn how to pray.
In Luke 11:1, they asked Him how to pray, "Lord, teach us to pray." They understood that prayer, coupled with a relationship with the Father and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, was the source of Jesus’ power. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, and He provided a prayer that serves as a model.
