Letting Go of Perfect is a comedic romance about Molly, a girl who goes on a reality dating show and instead of love, finds a twisted version of the most embarrassing form of fame.
Molly is tired of the dried up dating pool in her small town and determined that the relationship she finds when cast on Engaged, will be perfect. After all, the bachelor, Alister, is the very eligible and handsome helicopter pilot that she and her best friend swooned over during the previous season. With a name like that, how could he not be her dream man?
Things take a dramatic turn though when Alister breaks up with her, telling Molly that she is "boring." Angry and hurt, Molly runs after Alister and tackles him on national tv. When the episode airs, she is catapulted into social media stardom as that moment is made into a gif, a meme, and a viral sensation. Molly struggles to come to terms with her newfound notoriety and the uncomfortable question of if she is really boring.
