Lost love, a solo trip, and an ultimatum.
I always dreamed about moving down south and living a fun adventurous life by the seaside.
I knew Lucas had reservations about moving, but I kept telling him that his family should not dictate his life—he is a fully grown man and should make his own decisions.
I understand his skepticism though. He had to step up at a young age, and I know he didn’t want to leave them if they needed him.
But when I came home to find that letter, my whole world changed.
I was left with two choices: Stay where I was and live a miserable unfulfilling life, or make the trip down south myself.
And that’s exactly what I did.
Now—after I have successfully moved on from my relationship with Lucas, and when I am living my dream life—he has gotten back in touch.
He wants to rekindle our romance. He said he made a mistake, and he wants to drive down and see me.
What do I do? Of course, I still have feelings for him, but my whole life has changed now—is there space for Lucas in it?
Now, I am torn between the excitement and unknowing of something new, and the safety and security of something old.
I have no idea which one I will choose.
