    Description

Shay Gable hated my guts, and I hated hers, too.

We went out of our way to avoid one another at all times. When she came in my direction, I went the other. When we locked eyes, she’d turn and walk away.

All of that changed the day I was presented with a challenge. It started out as a stupid bet: make Shay fall in love with me before I fell in love with her first.

That was an easy bet for me to win.

    I didn’t love. I hardly liked.

Yet slowly the game started to shift. Shay made me crave things I never knew I wanted.

    Love.

    Happiness.

    Her.

The closer we grew, the more she challenged my darkness, and the parts I kept locked away.

    The hurts.

    The pains.

    The truth.

The game between us became too real, our feelings intermixed, and the risks of hurting one another grew higher.

But you know what they say...

All’s fair in the game of love and war - especially the heartbreaks.

    too much

I really enjoyed her silent waters book... once I got over the stupidity of her dramatically not talking ever. Unfortunately this book is not even on the same playing field as the other one. The story line itself isn't terrible but the language is abnoxuous... they swear constantly. And they are just kids but the sex is so descriptive. Its just bad news. If you're like me and that sort of stuff ruins a story don't bother with this one.

FEMALE NARRATION RUINED THIS ONE FOR ME

I had high expectations but was sadly disappointed. I got as far as Shay Chapter 7. The female narration is not good or maybe it’s really just YA because she sounds and reads like a child and I can go no further. I truly believe If someone else had been reading this I would have strongly enjoyed it. Ava Erickson would have been a good fit. Teddy Hamilton is awesome as usual so maybe I will try to just listen to his chapters. 👎👎👎👎👎

A Story That Hirs You Hard in the Heart!

This story deals with drug addiction, mental illness, bullying, and depression. It’s a love story between two enemies who make a bet that one of them will fall in love with the other. Of course, like any love story you know it’s going to happen. They are going to fall in love, and live happily ever after, right? Nope! Because in this story, there are complications. There are self doubts, suicidal thoughts, worthlessness. How does one deal with someone in a relationship like that? It takes unconditional love and forgiveness, But sometimes that is enough. There has to be professional help.

This is that story. Unconditional love from friends and family. They are the ones who help us get through our lowest moments. I loved this story of these two high school kids just trying to make it through life.

    Love it!

I love how this book shows the realness of depression and how the internal struggles within ones own mind can be as much of a barrier than outside negativity. I also love how it shows it from a young age, I started my struggle with depression at a young age as well. I also just in general love the love story here, its beautiful.

    My emotions

This book is pretty heavy as it deals with mental health - Depression, self loathing, troubled family dynamics and dealing with ramifications of suicide. Landon is such a broken young man and because his perception of Shay was that she was perfect there relationship began with them hating each other or so they thought. My heart ached for Landon, you will find yourself rooting for him and the development of his and Shay's relationship. There was even one point where I had to catch a tear. Looking forward to Part Two...narration was phenomenal.

    cute story

the story is ok. worth the credit. Miranda Jay is ok as a narrator. she could use some fine tuning but she wasnt awful. Teddy, Teddy, Teddy. I will never get sick of listening to this man speak. what and amazing, talented narrator.

the story is solid from high school students pov. I'm hoping part two is a little more mature if it's from their pov as adults. The sex scenes were kind of weird because they're high school kids and I dont really want to hear all that. I know high schoolers do stuff but I dont want to hear about it.

    What makes you sad.

I have no words to describe this book. All I can say is if a reader is a fan of author Brittainy Cherry, this book is a must read.

    Ok

It was my least favorite book from her. I’m a writer, I didn’t feel the magic in this book.
