Jasmine has always known that life wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that all her hard work keeping a home wasn't appreciated. It wasn't fair that none of that time counted as "experience," but she was desperate, so she had to take whatever there was. Stepping off the bus, she reminded herself that life didn't have to be fair, but it did have to be survived.
