This book is about two imperfect humans navigating life together for 23 years. They went through struggles that hopefully made them stronger. Most people called them “Ken & Barbie” but behind closed doors was a different reality. Behind the fit, tan bodies, perfect-looking hair, and great smiles, something else was lurking under the surface.
The past and the future collided. You cannot hide from the past, and you certainly cannot predict the future.
This is a story of unconditional love, poverty, alcohol abuse, mental illness, spirituality, sexuality, and faith.
It’s a story of struggle, denial, and survival. It’s a story of living in both heaven and hell simultaneously, but somehow coming out of it stronger and more powerful than ever.
Even “Ken & Barbie” didn’t always live happily ever after, but they did come out more authentic and better versions of themselves, with a stronger faith in God and family.
