Lieutenant Colonel Francis James Preston is promoted to colonel and assigned to train new recruits fresh out of infantry school to reactivate the 289th Infantry Regiment. Training these soldiers isn’t hard enough; Second Lieutenant Katharine Wilson is promoted to lieutenant colonel and assigned as the regiment’s executive officer.
The regiment attempts to prove their ability to fight together. Internal agents attempt to undermine the regiment to show its inability to defeat an enemy. The time spent training these soldiers exposes a dark secret known only to Dr. Paul Minder. External forces try to take control of the regiment from COL Jim Preston, causing a shake-up of the regiment.
