Description
They sent me away. No time to say good-bye.
I didn’t know if I loved her. I didn’t know she was carrying my child.
But when I saw her again I knew she still possessed me.
I was the college playboy. The rich sh*t with Daddy’s money.
Lucie was my childhood friend.
One night was all it took - rekindled our friendship...
Ignited our lust.
Then I messed up. And was gone.
Now I’m back, and I’m a better man.
The question is will Lucie still believe it?
Can we have a second chance?
I can see the old spark in her eyes. She shares my longing....
I hurt her all those years ago.
Now I need to step up and prove my heart. Own my past...
And show her my love for this child.
The child that looks like me.

NOT 4 ME 25 YEAR OLD PEOPLE R GROWN UPS NOT KIDS
***WARNING***
***IT CONTAINS SPOILERS***
Let me count the ways this is not for me.
I can understand kids/teenagers making mistakes, that is the way life goes. You make mistakes, learn from them, and move forward. The main characters here are absolutely immature throughout the story; they do not seem to learn from prior mistakes, and they do not mature.
First, the male lead is one of those selfish people that only think about *me, me, me, me*. It is always *ME* He is cruel without reason to the female lead all throughout the story. And the female lead has her head in the clouds when it comes to the *hero* no matter what, she always takes him back (with one exception).
01. They are next door neighbors and childhood best friends.
02. The girl has had a crush on the boy forever.
03. During High School, the boy becomes a lazy entitled slut, and he casts the girl aside without even a second thought, either to her or their friendship, which ends right there.
04. The girl is crushed, but she goes on without him while nursing her heartbreak.
05. They find themselves attending the same college, and the boy notices the girl is all grown up and she is a knockout which everybody except her seems to notice - They are next door neighbors, attending the same school, so I can't see how he had not noticed this before.
06. The boy is still a lazy, drunken, entitled slut in college, but he wants the girl, and he gets her (for a day).
07. After taking her virginity (one date, one unprotected rump on the literal haystack), the girl believes the boy loves her.
08. Girl goes to see the boy the next day, but the boy, who has just gotten an angry call from his father telling him to clean up his act or he will lose his family legacy, just turns her out without rhyme or reason and within earshot of one of his groupies.
09. The girl, who has self-esteem issues, is further humiliated by the boy's groupie who witnessed the encounter and bullies her, and he can't even give the girl the courtesy of standing up for her.
10. Boy gets kicked out of college, and millionaire father sends him away on a world tour to learn the tricks of their trade, the boy goes away without even a text message to the girl.
11. Girl finds out she is pregnant, and she leaves campus to go finish her studies from home and doesn't tell anybody, except for her mother, who the father is.
12. Boy comes back FIVE YEARS LATER and realizes that:
*A* He has been in love with the girl for a long time
*B* That the girl has a son *insert tangled emotions and tantrum from boy here*
*C* After telling the girl that he loves her, he doesn't put two and two together about the child. He finds out through an almost stranger that the girl had left school because of their breakup and he finally puts two and two together about the child.
*D* He gets angry with the girl for not telling him he was a daddy, and instead of listening to the why and how of things he gets angry, throws yet another tantrum, blames the girl for everything and leaves.
*C* When I think he is finally going to do the right thing *there are a few seconds when he thinks about doing what would have been right, but noooo..., he just goes out to get drunk and goes back to being his old self (woe is me, me, me...) and that was when I was finally done...
By this point, I didn't care if they got their Happily Ever After, which they magically did. I have always said *YES TO SECOND CHANCES, BUT THIRD AND MORE CHANCES? HELL-TO-THE-NO!"
The narrators get most of the stars although Jason Clarke doesn't get to read as much as Callie Dalton does.
Do not recommend this audiobook, no matter how much I enjoy listening to Jason Clarke.

Narration was great.
The heroin was a doormat the entire book. The one time she stood up for herself she caved in hours. The hero was so spoiled and so selfish. So, while it was written well, and narration was great; it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Too much wining, irresponsible behavior and self doubt from both POVs. Despite my opinion of this particular story and my first read from this author I will definitely give her another shot. I like her style.

CRINGE CRINGE CRINGE
I'm sorry but a few chapters in I was so annoyed at the story, first off...the female voice was annoying and cringey as hell, everything she said was so stupid and immatuer, the fact that he finally spoke to her after YEARS in a bar, she goes home to fantasize that their in love... BOI she is so naive, constantly going back to him and the fact that BOTH TIMES they met...the very next day of those meetings they slept together then the day after BOTH those days he blew her off, only to apologize the next next day and she'll forgive him again and they'll start making out..like I get you love the guy but have some self-dignity and play hard to get, SHE WAS TOO DAMN EASY, honestly, the story sounded like a disturbed 9-year old who is obsessed w a sex-filled happy ending wrote this book, Tried to give the author the benefit of the doubt but figured out it was a total waiste...sorry but DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

third chances for the win!
Jason Clarke is freaking awesome. And Callie Dalton was adorable ! They brought Cade and Lucy to life. Wonderful story about childhood friends who weave in and out of each other‘s lives and are completely intertwined in each other. I loved this book it was precious. Mia Ford has written a wonderful story. I enjoyed it thoroughly

So so terrible
One of the most poorly written books ever. Even Jason Clarke’s excellent narration can’t save this sinking ship.

So wanted to like this book.
So the only plus for this nook is Jason Clarke..he is one of my favorite voice actors...that is where my praise for this book stops.
The writing through so much of this book kills it for me...using juvenile words during sex scenes and Callie Dalton's male voice saying this words made me cringe...

For real?
I love Jason Clarke. However, this story is two selfish, whiney ass people, wallowing in a constant pity party when a few simple conversations could have fixed everything.
