The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John form an exquisite kaleidoscope that reflects the life and teachings of Jesus. Under the guidance of acclaimed biblical scholar Felix Just, SJ (PhD, Yale University), you will consider the different historical contexts, intended messages, and emphases of each evangelist. Fr. Just likens each gospel to a portrait of Jesus executed in a different style; the subject is the same, but the representations vary in intriguing ways. This short talk is part of a larger series, Fr. Just’s acclaimed Introduction to the New Testament. We invite you to the entire 36-talk series.
