Unprofessional and not written with integrity
Any additional comments?
This is an actual quote from the book: "Work on the first verse, then when you have it down work on the second verse, then the third. Go back and test yourself by trying to recall all three in order."
Rocket science, this is not.
But this doesn't really bother me as much as the author's attitude. What I found absolutely unnecessary in this book is his constant lecture about "those so-called Bible memory experts" (his words, not mine). Instead of acknowledging the numerous memory methods available, the author belittles these people - whoever they are - over and over again. I bought this to hear his theory, not to hear how his "Spirit-led method" is far superior to anything else available.
In my experience, and I hope Adam reads this, a confident person needs not step on others to prove his method. Such tactics only serve to discredit you and make me as the reader lose faith in your character and subsequently, your message.

Arrogant hype
Would you try another book from Adam Houge and/or David Golightly?
No
Any additional comments?
The book promises to discuss how to memorize the Bible. Very little time is spent discussing HOW to memorize the Bible, and a lot of time is spent telling the reader we OUGHT to memorize the Bible. But hey, I bought the book -- I already committed to the idea that I ought to memorize more Bible -- I want the "how" explained. The few minutes given to the HOW did not offer anything new.
There were also many personal digs from the author at others in his movement who have attempted to teach how to memorize the Bible. of course, his way is not only best in his view, but more holy.

Nothing new
Summary of the book:
If you are a good Christian you're going to do this - spends about half the time trying to convince you to do it when you've already bought the book.
The author next tells you why he's cornered the market on this and how anyone else is just prideful and doesn't apply the Bible, but he's not prideful and he does apply it.
Let the spirit lead you and use the same techniques that have been taught for thousands of years, and just do it.
I just saved your time and money.

It is a do not !
Horrible voice sounds robotic and the book itself is horrible. He keep repeating that we should memorize the bible, because God wants so that it is important etc, etc but he does not teach anything on how to do so! Just terrible

Not as informative as I hoped
Would have been better if there were more instruction and less quoting scripture. More detail with the instructions would have been very helpful.

Not really tell me how to memorize
Seemed like it was just shaming me into memorizing the Bible and praying that I would get some sort of understand and if I didn't have it don't bother

Some good pointers for memorizing
This book contained encouragement for rote memorization. Keeps you moving in the right direction. Appreciated his comments on being led by the spirit and not being legalistic about it.

Not instructional
The author 'mostly' focused on "why" the Bible needs to be memorized, not "how" to memorize the Bible. Essentially the title could be changed to "Why to Memorize The Bible." Essentially, many who purchase this book did so because they were already aware of the importance of understanding God's Word, as well as the importance of memorizing it too.

Too much filler
There was too much filler about why it is good to memorize and not enough about the method of memorization. The method itself is only worth one chapter.

Very Helpful
I wanted to improve my memorization skills and was pleased to find that the same things I have found to be successful in the past are recommended in Adam Houge"s book. However his more specific advice on the rote technique really helped me move forward more quickly in memorizing. I use my regular refreshers as my time of meditation and I try not to move any faster than the Holy Spirit wants me too, thus giving him a chance to work in my heart and open up his word to me so I may apply it. I find often that the same verses I am memorizing also will be pulled out by God for someone else that I can minister to.
