Description
Anna MacKay fears the MacLeods. Andrew MacLeod fears love.
Anna, angry with her brother, took a walk to cool her temper. She had no intention of venturing so close to MacLeod territory - until she saw a wee lad fall through the ice.
Andrew becomes enraged when it appears the MacKay lass has abducted his son, his last precious connection to the wife he lost - until he learns the truth. Anna, risked her life to save his beloved child.
Now there is a chance to end the generations old hate and fear between their clans.
Fate connects them. The desire for peace binds them. Will a rival tear them apart?

Angels among us.
This was a very fast paced, vivid depiction of Highland life, as alliances were forged and boundaries tested.
The heroine Anna is the heart of the story and is very warm, strong willed and full of love.
I love the interaction between each of the characters as they pull the reader/listener in, to share in the warmth and passion of each exchange.
The characters and the story lines are all fully developed and presented realistically without drawing the situation out unnecessarily.
The males in the story despite being forceful and strong are not averse to showing there softer reasonable side if the situation warrants it.
The narrator is excellent in his distinct and consistent depiction of each character. You were never reminded that he is reading a story. The tenor of each conversation reflected the emotion and character of the Highland individual being portrayed.
I believe the story was made even richer with a double "epilogue". I was pleased to have that added insight and have all loose ends secured.
It was a beautiful story of love and care to escape into and I loved every minuet of it.

ehh!
This was a disappointment. The story started out good and then was down hill. I kept listening hoping it would get better. Very predictable!
If u'r looking for a book that's like a "Harlequin romance" this would be it.
Paul Woodson was okay. His voices for the women characters r whiny.

This was a great series!
I always enjoy highland stories and some of my favorites are from Ceci Giltenan. Anna and Andrew are perfect for each other. The way the Highland people were raised is always interesting and family means everything to them. It's wonderful to find how the clans or families always intertwine in their strategic alliances.

Wonderful
This book is an adventure. Never boring, and hard to stop listening. I look forward to more of Ceci's books. Love them!

Another amazing read/listen
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is one of those books that did not have a lull. Kept my mind busy while I was working.
What did you like best about this story?
Frankly I enjoyed the book as a whole and that makes it difficult to pick out a "best part" of the story.....isn't that one of the points to writing a good book?!?!?! Make it hard for the reader to pick cause it is all pretty darn well written and flows nice.
What does Paul Woodson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think he enhances the experience of most books he does. He seems to put emotion into the characters. It is a bonus that his voice does not grate in the slightest.

Rated PG a very nice listen.
I liked that you could listen to it in mixed company. and that it wasn't too gory for the whole family to listen to. left the romance to your imagination
