Description
Regal romance abounds in this flirty, laugh-out-loud companion novel to Prince Charming, by New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hawkins.
Millie Quint is devastated when she discovers that her sort-of-best friend/sort-of-girlfriend has been kissing someone else. Heartbroken and ready for a change of pace, Millie decides to apply for scholarships to boarding schools...the farther from Houston the better.
Soon, Millie is accepted into one of the world's most exclusive schools, located in the rolling highlands of Scotland. Here, the country is dreamy and green; the school is covered in ivy, and the students think her American-ness is adorable.
The only problem: Mille's roommate Flora is a total princess.
She's also an actual princess. Of Scotland.
At first, the girls can't stand each other, but before Millie knows it, she has another sort-of-best-friend/sort-of-girlfriend. Princess Flora could be a new chapter in her love life, but Millie knows the chances of happily ever afters are slim...after all, real life isn't a fairy tale...or is it?
New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hawkins brings the feels and the laughs to her latest romance.

Book-tok made me buy it
I only knew about this book from Tiktok and that it was an enemies to lovers trope. (it is readable without having read the first book of the series)
It takes a lot to make me dislike a book, but I am so disappointed. I wanted just a little less magic and one more chapter in which they actually talk. You know, the thing you do in a relationship. This end is just way too lame for me.

LOVE IT!!!!
Absolutely loved this book! Could not put it down. I wanted to keep listening to it but I either had to work or sleep. The characters had depth, the story was raw, and the performance was impeccable. Great story and great job all around!!! Would highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a beautiful lgbtq+ romance and feel-good book. It has all the emotions in it. Give it a listen or a read. You won’t regret it. If you love love, you’ll love this.

Quick listen
It felt like a lot happened in a short period of time.
It is pretty unusual for a book with many characters to stand out and be recognized as individuals to me but this did that spectacularly.
All the characters besides Jude felt like good genuine people, and that level of realism was greatly appreciated.
The story didn't feel rushed.
The characters weren't inconsistent and the pacing was quite fast.
I was shocked in a good way at the intermediate level vocabulary / mature dialog.
My Only real problem was the lack of build up or background on sacks and Perry's relationship.

Sweet princess romance
I found it to be a bit repetitive at times but that was a minor issue. Overall, it’s a fun romance! I love that it takes place in Scotland!

Cliché, but in the right way
Overall: It's heartwarming and a great love story. Would definitely recommend.
Yeah, it's cliché sometimes, but it's done in a way that I don't really mind. I could see a lot of the drama points coming and knew how it was goinf to be resolved. However, I didnt mind it because it was woven in quite nicely rather than added for the sake of content.
I wished certain things were tied up better. The side characters were well written, so I had hoped for more. I used to never like epilogues, but I really wanted on in this case. There were a lot of news article/blog inserts so I thought a news article to tie up the ending with their relationship in the near or far future would've been a nice touch.
Performance wise: Amazing! Life is brought to every character and I was chuckling throughout. There was never a confusion with who was speaking.

LOVE IT!!
This book is extremely cliche, but cute none the less. I really like that each of the characters had layers to them and weren’t just “the blonde one” or something as simplistic as that. I just wish it were longer, because my heart is melting.
