The heat rose off the highway as she drove east, away from the sun. She thought it was ironic that she was driving away from the sun and into the heat, away from the cool and into the fire. The fire; the place where people like her were supposed to go. Wasn’t that what she was taught as a child? Bad people go into the heat, into the fire, into Hell. Hell...yes, that was exactly where she was going, and she was going willingly. The question was would this heat destroy herm or allow her to be reborn into something better?
