Description
From bestselling author J. B. Turner comes the next chapter in Jon Reznick’s story—revenge for a murdered friend.
Jon Reznick is not a man to cross. A brutally effective black-ops veteran, Reznick has a history of taking the law into his own hands. So when a group of masked men murders his closest friend, he swears to exact vengeance. The now-deceased Bill Eastland had been Reznick’s last living tie to his father, leaving him devastated…and furious. Whether or not the FBI approves, he swears to hunt down whoever issued the hit on his friend.
With the help of hacker Trevelle Williams, Reznick tracks the masked murderers from Maine to Texas to New York, quickly becoming embroiled in the shadowy world of the Aryan Brotherhood and the Mafia. As Reznick’s own body count begins to climb, clues lead him to one of the most dangerous crime families in New York, headed by the infamous Paul Moretti. But FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein has just learned a crucial secret that could derail Reznick’s quest for revenge—Moretti is a high-level FBI informant.
Reznick faces a stark choice: take on the FBI and risk severing ties with Martha, or inflict his own form of rigorous justice no matter the possible fallout. How far will he go—and how many government agencies will he undermine—to get retribution for his best friend’s death? He might just have to create his own set of rules.

Reznick to the Rescue!!
When Jon Reznick’s lifelong friend and his wife are murdered Reznick has no choice but to track down the killers. On the night of the murders he was able to wound one of them. He tracks down the others in the south and finds a trail leading back to New York. There he looks for whoever gave the order and was ultimately responsible. He finds a thread linking the person to the mafia. But… the FBI has a confidential informant they are protecting deep within the organization and they want Jon out. The director says he’s gone rogue again and places the responsibility squarely in Martha Meyerstein’s lap. Because she’s had a long time relationship with Reznick she does everything in her power to keep him safe without putting her own job at risk.
This is a fast paced, exciting story with plenty of action. If you’re looking for a quick, fun story you won’t be disappointed.
Jeffrey Kafer does a great job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Horrible - How was this published?
This is just awful. The dialogue sounds like something a teenage girl would write. Couldn’t finish. I moderately enjoyed previous installments but this one stands out as uniquely bad. Maybe the same woke Jr. Editor who suggested to make the villains belong to a group of white racists (wow, original these days) was also allowed to be the ghost writer. Or maybe it was written over the course of an evening of drinks, regardless; it’s horrible. To make matters worse, there are a few scenes of over the top violence which I guess was an attempt to overcome the lack of realistic dialogue among the violent characters. Just weird

Just awful!!
I've read all the Jon Reznick books but they're getting worse and worse. The conversations are awful, especially between the men. At the end of whatever they were talking about it was ended in "man.' IE; "do you want to do this, man? You're crazy, man! Are you in or out, man? I'm in, man!" It was totally insane.
Then there was the bad guys! Every time Reznick knocked one of them down he would stomp on their head, even when they were unconscious.
Then there was his thoughts on continuing after the Mob Boss. If he continued it could ruin his daughter's career (she's an FBI Agent.) He didn't seem to care about that since he went after him anyway.
The stupidity just went on and on. IF this was edited the editor didn't care about this book OR he/she doesn't know how to edit a book.
There was no sex and the F-bomb was used 190 times.
As for the narration: I started listening to this series in 2018 and really didn't know a good narrator from a bad one. Then I slowly learned, and Jeffrey Kafer is terrible. Every man and woman sounds exactly alike, except for Moretti who he gave a New Jersey accent to, that was horrible.
He never laughed, yelled, whispered, anything at all during the entire book. Not an ounce of emotions. I've definitely had enough of Jeffrey Kafer.

Too many F bombs
Dialogues hurt by juvenile swearing. Resnick have out $50 tips to everybody and dropped tons of cash. Tossed several motorcycles. Done with this author.

All In The Family
Reznick vs the mob! Not a fair fight, bad guys need more bad guys! Don't threaten my daughter 'cuz that'll just make me angry and you won't like me when I'm angry. Not much finesse in this one, but everyone loves an underdog. Finding himself defending both his daughter and his home turf, Reznick seems a bit off his game. All well that ends well, as they say,.

Plot, Characters and Dialogues Devolve
Jon Reznick, Martha Meyerstein, and Trevelle Williams are all really viable characters. Unfortunately, everyone else, both good and bad, were poorly developed as characters. Even worse, the plot was absurd and the dialogues between the various characters were almost childish.
Somehow, it almost seems as if J. B. Turner has tired of his character. In fact, Turner’s writing style didn’t seem to match his earlier work.
If Reznick were to evolve into an appreciated asset instead of the unconventional hero, always hated by those he saves and if Turner takes an interest in further developing the core characters, Jon Reznick’s adventures might be more interesting. I hope this will happen. Turner’s earlier Reznick adventures were fun to read/listen.
Otherwise, Reznick should consider retiring to a quiet life in Maine.

Fantastic!
I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for this book! I love John Resnick, and I love the series. There are many other series with heroes similar to John, but they can’t compare. His sense of justice coupled with his inability to follow rules makes for a perfect story. I was hoping that things would finally come together with him and Martha in this book, I’ll have to wait and see in the next one!
