Description
Tempted to give up? Here's how to keep going.
If you browse through the interviews with some of the most successful people on Earth, you'll find one common piece of advice shared by virtually all of them:
They never give up on their big goals.
Research shows that grit is a better predictor for success than any other factor. The ability to keep going despite setbacks is more important than your IQ, character, or external factors like your upbringing or surroundings.
But what does it really mean to "never give up"? What exactly is grit? How do you persevere when faced with larger-than-life difficulties? How do you keep going when you're at the brink of exhaustion, and all your hard work hasn't been rewarded yet?
I wrote this book to explore the subject of persistence from a more scientific point of view than clichéd self-help sayings provide. I want to share with you how exactly to stick to your goals according to peak performers and science - not vague motivational advice that assumes we have unlimited strength once we're motivated enough.
Here are just a couple of things you will learn from the book:
- A crucial piece of advice you can learn from the first people who reached the South Pole. If you make the wrong choice, you'll burn out - guaranteed.
- What famous American comic Jerry Seinfeld did in the early days of his career to keep going. It's a simple trick that provides huge results.
- What a study of top musicians, athletes, actors, and chess players can teach you about achieving results and persistence.
- The one trait, according to studies, that is strongly associated with grit and persistence. Learn what it is and how to develop it in five different ways.
There's no reason why you should give up if you're working on the right goal. Learn how to make sure you'll reach your objectives. Buy the audiobook now.

Very boring / misleading that it's scientific
Very elementary book. Not that insightful. Examples are often statistically insufficient for a conclusion. It's s compilation of the
Obvious.

Extremely Practical Advice and Tangible Action Steps
I gave this book 5 stars because the author provided such proven scientific and physical steps that I could do to improve my mental toughness. If you understood the seriousness and longevity of the battles that I face; you would understand my delight in discovering through this book so many practical ideas to increase my endurance and improve my focus in the midst of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Concise and helpful without a lot of fluff
I listen to a number of positive behavioral books and this one was very good. it presented scientific evidence, as well as the author's experience, but it was not overly filled with stories. For me, this was a better method of delivery. I also liked the length, shorter than most books.

A good tool for Reaching Your Goals
What made the experience of listening to Grit: How to Keep Going When You Want to Give Up the most enjoyable?
learning new ways to improve your self and finding out mutable new way of overcoming hurdles that have stopped me in the past.

It is short and packed with information about a singe area to improve on. some self help books are so long and try to cover every subject and don't do a good job on any one subject.

The same clear and easy to understand.

Any additional comments?
I look Forward to lessening to this book a 2nd & 3rd time while taking notes.

Rehash of same old material.
Uninspiring and borrowed ideas from multiple other books. Save your money and get something more substantive.

Solid Starting Point
Very concrete points introduced just needed some additional details on application. Recommended as initial point of reference; you will need a deeper dive with additional bodies of work.
