Is God in control of every single detail of every particular thing in our connected lives? Well, this novel will not answer that question for you. I suppose that's a bit unfortunate. It will, however, cause you to ponder the mysteries of a Sovereign God, and potentially cause you to rethink everything.
This novel is a story about Finnegan Barrett, a young man from South Dakota who was awarded the Bronze Star after the war. In spite of the darkness that haunted him; that wanted the death of him physically and spiritually, he found and fell in love with Nora Callin, a college girl from the Georgia coast. In his hometown, Finnegan is recognized as a hero, and rightfully so. But despite this good-boy reputation, inwardly he determines that he is nothing more than a coward, one that is capable of the very worst. The contrast of what his life becomes, versus, what he wanted from the onset, is identifiable by most every listener... in every walk of life, at least for the listener who is honest with him or herself. Hold on as you and Finnegan will enter the battlefield of life; through the wicked mind of a Dark Serpent, all the while searching for the King's grace.
