    Description

From New York Times best-selling author Samantha Towle comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel about love, lies, and rock stars.

    The son of an icon.

He was a legend. Rock royalty.

    A man I never met.

But I’m measured against him in every aspect of my life.

The only time I feel like me...the real me...is when I’m onstage with my band. But the more we grow in popularity, the more people compare me to him.

I’m not him. And I never will be. If only everyone could figure that out for themselves.

I need a break from it all.

Then, a confrontation has me jumping in my car, putting LA in my rearview mirror. And a stupid mistake ends up with my car on the side of the road. And straight into the path of a girl who is the exact opposite of everyone else in my life.

She’s like everything I used to know.

And she has no clue who I am.

Even if she did, I don’t think she’d care.

    She thinks I’m cavalier.

I think she’s intriguing. And hot. Let’s not forget hot.

I’m stuck in this town overnight while my car is being fixed. But I’m thinking I’m gonna stick around a bit longer.

I’m Storm Slater, lead guitarist in Slater Raze and the only child of the late, great Jonny Creed. But, here, right now...I’m nobody. Just a regular guy.

I’m liking it a whole lot.

And I’m liking her even more.

    Finding him alright

This was such a great story, once I started I couldn't stop listening to it. I laughed out loud so many times. The relationship between Storm and Stevie was so real if that is the right word. You could see it really happening. I love listening to them as their relationship developed and moved along. It wasn't the typical crazy sex fest that we usually get from rock stars. He was the one who was looking for a change. He found it. She was exactly what he needed.

The narrators were wonderful, of course, they always are. If I ever had the chance to date a rock star I would want him to sound like Jacob Morgan.

So worth the credit for me, definitely a keeper and one I know I will listen to over and over. Well done Samantha Towle, I need to go and see what else you have.

    4 1/2 STARS

I have not read/listened to the other books in the series but when I saw the narrators for this one I had to listen! I was not lost and was able to enjoy even with starting the series at the end. Storm is a rockstar who is unhappy with his life. Running from his problems he finds Stevie. Stevie is a funny and quirky heroine who I instantly liked. Watching her relationship with Storm develop was everything. The secondary characters were pretty awesome too. I loved the banter both main characters had with their families.

Both narrators portrayed the characters perfectly.

    Excellent

This was probably the best book I've listened for a long while! No meaningless angst, funny banter and excellent narrators. Loved it and I'm hoping there will be stories for the other band members. So worth a credit!

I just love a book that makes me laugh. I will definitely listen to this book again. Stevie is one of a kind, I just love her. She’s funny, loving and someone you want as a friend forever. Storm and his band members are awesome and funny. Would love them in my family. Storms family and Stevie’s family are also wonderful, funny and loving. I just love all the banter between all of them. Elena Wolfe her narration is fantastic. I love how she expresses herself when narrating. Jacob or Zachary Is awesome I love his voice. He also does very well narrating. GREAT 👍 BOOK

    great ending

This was a great ending to the series. I ruined thought I ruined it for myself by reading the overview for this one before book 3.5 but it was still great. The narrator's brought the story to life as well. Hopefully we'll get more info on the band.

    happy

I was grinning for most of the book and there were 2 or 3 LOL moments. no intense drama or pain. excellent narration. Ms Wolfe is probably the best female narrator I've heard and Mr Morgan never fails. he's one of the ppl that I try to find on a book. this time I listened through AE. I have every intention of buying this soon and I will be listening to more by this author. peace

Amazing: Jacob.Morgan and Elena Wolfe are incredible

This audio book was incredible. Unlike how I usually find an audio book, read book first then listen to audio, I went straight to the audio book. So I’m going to talk about that first. It’s not surprise to me that Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe nailed this audio, they do every time and as this book is available with Audible Escape it is a no brainer.

As for the story. I have not read anything by this author so I haven’t read the previous books in the series which I will be rectify.

This was a fantastic story. I love everything about Storm and Stevie and their relationship. I’m definitely hoping for some more books in the future. I think Storms bandmates can get into a lot of mischief in Arizona and should make for some excellent material with those three for sure!

    Funny, Sexy & Sweet!

I sat on this in my wish list for a while and now I wish I'd listened to it sooner. The brief description of the book doesn't really do it justice and makes it seem so much more dramatic than it is. While there is drama, it is more lighthearted and funny. I didn't think I'd like Storm from his behavior at the beginning of the book, though I could understand how he was going through he motions of the "rock star life" he'd been raised in and eventually took up himself in his own career, but he won me over. Especially after his heartbreak at finding out the truth about his past and his father's death, you can feel how deeply he was hurt by it and his need to get away from his life for a while.

I absolutely loved Stevie! She's so cute and spunky and yet vulnerable. She has no idea who Storm is because she only listens to music from the 80's. Being a child of the 80's myself, I loved that about her! I even loved how the author worked a few bits of 80's pop lyrics into the exposition and internal monologues of the characters, not just their banter. You have really listen for them but they are such great little Easter eggs when you pick up on them: like Stevie asking "Don't you want me?" - hello Human League; and "touched for the very first time" - Madonna reference. Okay, so those could have been unintentional on the author's part and I'm reading too much into it, but with the emphasis on 80's music being so intrinsically part of Stevie's personality, it's easy to do. (P.S. I so wanted to shout "Yes!" to Def Leppard's 'Hysteria' playing in Storm's car when he and Stevie went "parking." Love that song!)

There were some predictable turns in this story and ones that surprised me as well. I wasn't expecting Stevie's reaction to finding who Storm really was. I thought it would go the typical "girl finds out guy has been lying and she gets angry and tells him to hit the road" reaction, but she surprised me and the conversation she has with Storm afterward was so sweet and endearing. It was handled perfectly and so in line with Stevie's character.

I did not listen to any of the prior books in this series and don't feel like it is necessary to do so to enjoy this one. I do hope that we will get stories for Raze, Levi and Cash. Seems like Raze and Stevie's friend Penny could have hit it off - if she didn't go completely fangirl over him. Definitely need Cash's story so he doesn't end up living with Storm and Stevie down the road.

All in all, a great story about a rock star hiding out from his life meets girl-next-door. The narrators are perfect, too. Jacob and Elena really know how to bring their characters to life rather than just reading words on a page. Another great performance from them!

    LOL & Sweet

Just when you thought you were reading a typical rock star romance story with all the usual tropes, you get this lovely and sweet story. Narrators do a fab job of bringing these fun characters to life. Love quirky Stevie and her family and friends. Snappy banter makes it a joy to listen and relisten. Enjoy!
